How do I know if a business account is right for me?
If you're shipping items you sell, you qualify for a business account, no matter the quantity or frequency. That includes selling on platforms like Etsy and eBay. With a business account, there's no Employer Identification Number required, and you get access to special discounts, dedicated sales support, and exclusive rewards.
Do I need an account to ship?
You do not need an account to ship a package. You can create a one-time shipment without setting up an account or storing credit card information.
What is the difference between a rewards account and a regular account?
Both account types receive shipping discounts, an address book, and faster shipment set up. A rewards-enabled account is recommended if you're selling a product or service—even if you're the sole proprietor. It has the added benefit of FedEx Rewards—a free loyalty program where you can earn exclusive rewards on eligible shipping.
How do I create a FedEx Rewards account?
FedEx Rewards is a loyalty program that is free to join and rewards members for doing business with FedEx. To join, scroll to the top of the page and click "Open an account." Be sure to keep the box checked to opt-in to FedEx Rewards when opening your account.
Is there a fee for opening a FedEx account?
There is no fee to open any type of FedEx account. Shipping account creation requires you provide a credit card number so that your billing information is added to your FedEx account. In order to verify the credit card information, a temporary $1 hold may be placed on your credit card.
